“Have I ever claimed to be an Auradon girl, Zekel?” Evie asked archly, shifting to cross one leg over the other as she regarded him from her perch on the edge of the well. “Just because I enjoy the finer things in life doesn’t mean I’ve automatically turned in my poison apples for the recipe to an apple pie,” the bluenette scoffed. “This place is a shithole I’m hardly keen on returning to. If that means I have to play nice until their suspicions turn elsewhere, then so be it. That doesn’t mean I’m not still playing a part.”

Coming from Harry, being told she had pirate tendencies almost made the bluenette coo. That was high praise indeed from a Hook, and Evie rewarded him for the compliment with a kiss to the cheek as she stepped into his space to take his arm. “Hopefully not whatever it was they had yesterday. That was awful enough I’d much have rather taken my chances with a poison apple,” she grumbled. “We at least know Snow White survived that.”

If there was one thing that everyone on the Isle did it was use everything to their advantage. So he wasn't fully surprised that Evie would use anything to her advantage.

"Yes you do." He said. "That's a bit of a pirate thing not to mention just a survival technique." Harry said. They had to keep some things close. A nod from him. Turning from the rail holding an arm from her. "Let's go see what they have today." It was always a bit of a thing, but they had survived all the same.

I love the D1 Core 4 when they're fresh into Auradon so I went with those outfits🔥 (or at least I think that's Jay's? I can't remember. I'm sure it is. It's fine, he's still Jay)

Chocolate eyes widened for a moment, a flicker of muted surprise that very quickly gave way to a more incredulous expression. “Were you ever better off with her?” Evie posited almost mockingly, head tilted to the side as she regarded her mother coldly. “Or were you just so glad to be rid of a child that was half Leopold that you didn’t care?”

Regina had known firsthand the sort of mother Cora was, and yet she had still handed over her only child to the woman to raise. Of course, Evie wasn’t naive enough to believe there hadn’t been some sort of manipulation involved in that decision. But the point remained her mother had given her away and then all but washed her hands of her daughter, only to turn around years later and adopt some brat and play mother to him. “Either way, your apology is not accepted, Mother. Just be glad I somehow turned out a better person than I was raised to be. If I wasn’t, it would have been him that paid the price.”

"I-" For the first time in a very long time, Regina is left speechless, the words stuck within her throat. She could suddenly see the past repeating itself before her eyes, and it was too late for her to stop it. "I thought you would be better off with her," the words felt hollow, a perfectly practiced lie that had been told to her so many times that she'd begun to believe it herself. After all, who wouldn't believe their own mother, as bitter and conniving as she was, when she told her that she was incompetent to raise her daughter and that the baby would be better off without her? "I'm sorry." The words spill past her lips for the first time, and she's left staring sadly at her daughter. "I'm sorry."

“I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I agree with your sisters. Never listen to people who are so pathetic that the only way they can rise above you is to drag you down,” the designer coached. “Auradonians may seem nicer, but there are still plenty of girls like that here.”

“And some of them are about to be really jealous of you…as they should be.” Evie joked as she led her towards the venue, her smile a touch smug at the younger girl’s surrender. “You’re going to do amazingly, Diz.”

"That is true." Dizzy said. "My sisters say that too, but you tend to run into them a lot." She said. Especially when she was on the Isle there were plenty of people that liked to pick on her.

A smile from her. "I won't." She said. She had missed Evie when she'd gotten to go, but she had learned that she could stand on her own even a little bit. "Okay okay I know when I've been beaten." She said. "And I can't say no to you anyway."
